Out of the Box with Mr. Knits: Expansion
While super busy in our peak season, I still occasionally stop and think of how we got here. Our yarn stores are set up the way they are for a few reasons.
This web store is the next level up from our eBay legacy. We carry premium yarns you won’t see at JoAnn nor Walmart. Currently that is only Noro yarns, because that is one of Bonnie’s (Mrs. Knits’) favorites. But read on! We also carry quality LYKKE needles and other tools here.
Our eBay store is now our clearance outlet. Many people don’t understand that eBay is not just a garage sale of misfits. Some major retailers have supplemented their business with eBay sales. So while there are some people selling their junk yarn, we still sell good quality yarn there, while providing excellent service. It’s mostly our closeouts and stock overruns, with a few mid-range favorites like EuroYarns Xanadu, and the Queensland Perth sock yarn we just introduced.
Mrs. Knits Yarn Studio is our brick and mortar store in Bremerton WA (just west of Seattle). By appointment only, Mrs. Knits will give you personalized service, helping you set up your next project over a cup of coffee or tea. While there are no discounts from retail prices in the Studio, there are no additional charges for the personalized attention that Mrs. Knits is delighted to offer. Also, we plan on hosting knitting and crochet events there, so stay tuned for more.
Finally, we make no apologies for setting up a yarn shopping experience that’s significantly different from the countless brick & mortar yarn shops that have shut down (even before the pandemic, and before we opened this website). We too are saddened to see so many brick & mortar yarn shops no longer open, but have no desire to join them.

We don’t listen to nay-sayers, but we do listen to you, our customers! A few people wanted to see a wider variety than just Noro in this web store, so we are adding more yarn brands.
The expansion will start with Elsebeth Lavold Yarns, which will be added to this store very soon. Mrs Knits is a strong believer in the quality of Elsebeth Lavold, and has been delighted to knit with their yarns before.
More yarns will be added in the near future, hopefully including some indie dyers of exquisite quality and uniqueness.
Finally this Summer, Mrs. Knits Yarn Studio in Bremerton is planned to move downstairs to a much larger space being built out just for us! We’ll have room for more yarns, some notions, and for special events there. Details to follow.
